2025 Sessions
First 6-week session (6W1): May 27 – July 6
Second 6-week session (6W2): July 7 – August 17
Full 12-week session (12W): May 27 – August 17

Summer Session offers Sac State and visiting students the opportunity to take classes over the summer during two 6-week sessions and one 12-week session.

The short sessions allow students the flexibility to complete graduation requirements and advance toward degree goals while pursuing other interests over the summer.

To view the courses offered in Summer Session, please visit Sacramento State’s class schedule page.

Students should log in to MySacState and click on “Search the Class Schedule” for real-time class schedule information, including the number of open seats.

What if the class I need is full? Will departments add more sections to the schedule?

Courses are offered at the discretion of faculty, deans and provost who determine if courses are appropriate to offer in summer and winter sessions. If you have questions about course offerings or want to see a class added to the schedule, please contact the department overseeing the specific course you want (for example: ENGL 1 is offered by the English department). Your feedback helps create summer schedules containing the classes you need to graduate faster.

Summer Youth Academies

Overview

Summer Youth Academies offer an exciting opportunity for students in 7th to 12th grades to explore a variety of subjects, preview college through academic, hands-on career exploration, and interactive projects and coaching.

Academies are led by campus faculty and industry experts in a variety of disciplines including computer science, engineering, public safety, arts, business, and more.

Online registration begins on Saturday, March 1, 2025. We look forward to seeing you this summer!

Learning from Professionals: Another Great Summer at CCE

One of the many benefits of the Summer Youth Academies at Sac State’s College of Continuing Education is the opportunity that students have to meet industry professionals who visit the academies as guest speakers. 

This summer Esther Amato, an instructor in the Fashion Merchandising and Management program at Sac State, invited several alumni to visit the summer academy she was teaching.

Summer Youth Academies to provide engaging enrichment classes for hundreds of local K-12 students

Sacramento State’s popular Summer Youth Academies will soon get underway, bringing hundreds of local seventh- through 12th graders to the University for fun and hands-on career exploration, as well as a chance to experience life on a college campus.

The weeklong academies begin June 24 and run through Aug. 2 and include classes in popular and growing career fields such as fashion, criminal justice, artificial intelligence and education.
