Ray Ashcraft has been an instructor in the Sac State EMT program since 2017. He graduated from the Sac State Paramedic program in 2015. Since then, he has worked in several positions within emergency medical services, including EMT, FTO, Paramedic, and Director of Operations. Ray is the creator and operator of Ashcraft EMS, a business that supports EMT students locally and across the United States.

With a focus on comprehension over memorization, Ray’s instruction is to “make it make sense.” Teaching has been Ray’s greatest passion to date. He says, “My favorite part of being an instructor is seeing the students grow as individuals. The mindset, communication skills and confidence they learn in school is a joy to witness come forward as a positive in their daily lives.”
