Dr. Pamela Wimbush
Associate Dean, Program Success and Organizational Excellence
Dr. Pamela Wimbush has over 20 years of experience working in higher education which includes oversight and leadership at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Northern Virginia Community College, Johns Hopkins University, Hampton University, and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is a notable scholar, researcher, practitioner, and educator in continuing, professional, and online education. Her career is indicative of the desire to provide wider access to adult learners and social mobility through quality education in various modalities.
As the Associate Dean of Program Success and Organizational Excellence, she is a key member of the dean’s leadership team with primary responsibilities for the college’s program support units (Enrollment and Marketing Services, Digital Learning & Technology Solutions, and Evaluations and Effectiveness, Compliance, People and Culture, Facilities, and Finance) which are critical to a quality experience for the learners who are served through CCE.
Dr. Pamela Wimbush holds a bachelor of science in computer studies, a master of science in distance education, a master of science in management, and received her doctorate in Educational Administration from the University of Wyoming. She is a former Board of Directors at-Large member for University Professional and Continuing Education Association (UPCEA), served on the UPCEA D&I Task Force and D&I Committee, and several advisory boards. In addition, she has conference presentations and engagement for the Online Learning Consortium (OLC), Quality Matters (QM), and Educause. She is a recent graduate of the UC Berkeley Executive Leadership Academy and serves on the American Association for the Advancement of Science Path to Public Interest Technology Initiative Advisory Board (AAAS), where she engages with national technology leaders on implementing Artificial Intelligence (AI) from a human rights lens.
Pamela’s experience encompasses positions leading and managing continuing, professional, and online education, summer programs, and all aspects of program development, delivery, assessment, and evaluation. Her experience in a variety of institutions — public, private, research, teaching, four-year, and two-year — brings a wealth of knowledge to the College of Continuing Education. She is committed to serving CCE, learners, the community and beyond to transform lives.
