Gary Slavit, a certified Project Management Professional (PMP),  joined Sacramento State in 2002 to teach in the Project Management Certificate Program at the College of Continuing Education. Gary is a private independent consultant specializing in project management, non-profit organizations, and small business; and serves as an equity partner and board secretary for Response 1 Medical Staffing, Inc. 

Prior to these ventures, Gary held positions with MGT of America, Data Dimensions, and the State of California. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from UC Berkeley. He is a member of the Project Management Institute and serves on the board of directors of the California Alumni Association.  He is a longtime resident of Sacramento and is an avid fan of California Golden Bears athletics, especially football.
