Youth Programs FAQs

What youth enrichment programs are being offered at Sacramento State this summer?

We are offering a select number of classes in our Academic Talent Search (ATS) series and Summer Academies for High School Students.

Who is eligible?

  • ATS is open to students entering 7th – 10th grade
  • Summer Academies is open to students entering 9th grade through graduating seniors

Are the classes online? What do I need to participate?

Due to COVID-19, ATS and Summer Academies sessions will be offered online. Students will need a computer and an internet connection to access the courses and participate in class activities. ATS and Summer Academies are unable to provide laptops or hotspots to students.

How will classes be delivered online?

The instructors will use Zoom software for live classroom instruction and interactive projects. In some classes, students will work on projects at their own pace using Canvas software (a version is currently being adapted for use in our youth programs) or Adobe Connect software. Specific software instructions will be provided prior to each class.

Who will be teaching the classes?

The classes are taught by university professors, community college faculty, industry professionals and other educators.

Is there homework?
