Christine Irion
Assistant Dean
Christine Irion works as the Assistant Dean to provide leadership and project management for college-wide initiatives, support the achievement of strategic goals, and enhance CCE’s organizational culture. Christine collaborates with CCE’s executive leadership team and administrators to analyze policies and practices and develop and implement innovative solutions.
Christine previously led CCE’s Extension Programs team, directing the development and delivery of public and contract training programs, organizational development services, and online and classroom based instructional design projects. Christine has a breadth and depth of experience interacting with business, government, higher education, and workforce communities.
Christine joined Sacramento State, College of Continuing Education in 1998. Her higher education career began in 1995 at Deganawidah-Quetzalcoatl University, an accredited California tribal college. Christine is “made at Sac State”, receiving a bachelor’s degree in sociology and women’s studies, and a master’s degree in educational administration and policy studies from California State University, Sacramento. When not spending time with her husband and twin boys, Christine is an avid reader and enjoys living in worlds created by works of fiction.
