Sacramento State College of Continuing Education Celebrates Dr. Hamid Motallebzadeh’s Outstanding Faculty Award
Sac State’s College of Continuing Education (CCE) is proud to celebrate Dr. Hamid Motallebzadeh, Assistant Professor in the Audiology Program within the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, for receiving the 2025–2026 Outstanding Faculty Award for Scholarly and Creative Activity. This prestigious recognition highlights Dr. Motallebzadeh’s impactful research, dedication to teaching, and commitment to advancing the field of hearing science.
Dr. Motallebzadeh’s work bridges the gap between cutting-edge research and meaningful classroom experiences. His teaching is deeply informed by his scholarly pursuits, particularly his fascination with how sound travels through the auditory system and becomes the rich perceptions that shape how we experience the world. By bringing this curiosity into the classroom, he creates a learning environment that is both engaging and grounded in real-world clinical applications.
“When course topics relate to my research, I share them with enthusiasm so students can see how classroom learning connects to ongoing discoveries in the field,” Dr. Motallebzadeh shared.
His ability to translate complex scientific concepts into accessible and inspiring lessons has made a lasting impression on students across programs.
Within CCE, Dr. Motallebzadeh has been a valued faculty member in the Communication Sciences and Disorders Second Bachelor’s Program (CSAD2B) for the past three years. This program offers students from diverse academic and professional backgrounds a pathway into the field of communication sciences and disorders, equipping them with the foundational knowledge needed to pursue advanced study or careers in audiology and speech-language pathology.
Through his work in CSAD2B, Dr. Motallebzadeh plays a key role in preparing the next generation of professionals. Many students who begin in the program go on to pursue advanced degrees, including Sacramento State’s Doctor of Audiology program. His teaching emphasizes not only academic mastery but also personal growth and professional identity.
“What matters most to me is helping students build confidence, stay curious, and see themselves as future professionals who can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives,” he said.
Dr. Motallebzadeh’s recognition with the Outstanding Faculty Award underscores the vital role faculty play in shaping student success and advancing knowledge in their disciplines.
